I found a Lincoln with a squashed bug stuck to it roll searching once. I knew I should have taken a picture of it!
Not my pic or coin but saw this when hunting down my weasel coin/ avatar. The set the weasel coin would normaly come with includes a bug (but i bought just the weasel coin not the set)
I'm trying to think about all the coins I have but I can't remember any others. Animals are popular, but not so much bugs.
I just ordered this one - it has my favorite insect: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kazakhstan-...1272966?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item3ccca30306
Didn't think I had any with bugs on, and then remembered this one, which is actually in my "for sale" tray! 1792 Halfpenny token from Birmingham - always rely on the 18th Century tokens to turn up the unusual topics!
Back in those days, bees (and beehives) showed up on quite a few tokens. After all, the bee represents both wealth and work, and also the loyalty to some supreme ruler ... Here are, from an Austrian forum, three French jetons (not mine) from the 18th century: 1701: http://www.numismatik-cafe.at/download/file.php?id=8893&mode=view 1715: http://www.numismatik-cafe.at/download/file.php?id=8894&mode=view 1778: http://www.numismatik-cafe.at/download/file.php?id=8895&mode=view Christian
Not my coin and not my pics but I`ve met the spider, they used to live in the airvents of the brickwork of our house when I lived in Sydney. One of its arachnid cousins bit me while I lived there, great for rapid weight loss while lying on your back for a week, LOL
