    Box of Halves: SKUNK
$100 BWR Halves: SKUNK...I thought. I searched them in the car and I thought it was skunk. But when I got home and cleaned up the mess, I found another Roll hidden behind my box. I unwrapped it and found a ugly 1964 Kennedy Half. Ugly...but mine! :)

Will do another Box of Halves later today.

$17 in loose halves got a 1 90%. My first 90% hunting. The bank I got it at the teller only had $1.50 in halves and the one on top was a 64. Also grabbed 2 clad Ikes.

Two boxes of halves: One 40%
    $240 CWR halves: Nothing

Also picked up a box of nickels, but I realized when I got home that I don't have any nickel wrappers! Guess I'll have to hold off searching them...

Why not just use the wrappers that are used to hold the nickels in your box? That's what I do with both plastic and paper wrappers.

If they were paper wrappers I would, but it just takes way too long for me to do it with plastic wrappers. It's not a huge deal, one of the friendlier banks around is open tomorrow so I'll just pick up a big stack of nickel wrappers tomorrow.

Or find a bank in the area that has a coin counting machine. That's what I do.

I only keep the 90%. I'd like to see a pic of that stack too.

So do you sell the 40% and buy 90%s with the money? Or just keep 90%s and sell the 40%s to increase your payload?
And WOW what an accomplishment with 1000! Congratulations and there is still a month to go!

    Box of dimes - 2 x Roosie
    I was happy with that

Then I did the last $150 of halves I had laying around. That actually have me a 40%er
Turned out to be a nice day

I've heard of people having trouble with the plastic wrappers. Sometimes bank tellers have looked surprised when I bring in boxes and I've told them I've gone through and re-rolled the coins in the plastic wrappers. I guess I've gotten used to carefully releasing the coins and putting them back into their wrappers.

It is a huge waste of resources to not re-use the wrappers and boxes. There's the cost of the electricity to run the counting machines, the cost to ship out the loose coins in bags, a cost to roll and box them at processing centers and finally, the cost to ship them out again in their boxed form. We can all do our part to minimize the use of the planet's resources and re-rolling them yourself is one way to go about doing that. To each his own though, I guess.

Though I'm a fan of recycling, I don't do it while roll searching. I get so very mad when I go to a bank and ask for halves and they say "sure, we have $490 worth" and give me 49 BWR with one end opened and folded down. I've also seen them that are discreetly "re-crimped" too, and those are the worst. There could be slugs in them. It appears deceptive to me. And: you may end up searching your own rolls again.

I get boxes of halves at Chase, dump in the coin counter at TCF. Works great.

Brought $100 of nickels back to the bank and the teller handed me $200 for them. I told her it was only $100, my fiance works at the bank I couldn't take the extra 100, not that I would have at any other bank but I felt better not taking it.

Also my soon the be father in law had a bunch of change he let me go through. He said keep anything good I find. i told him I would roll all the coins up for him after I was done.

    $190 Quarters - nothing
    $40 Dimes - Nothing
    $10 Nickels - Nothing
    $18 Pennies - 14 wheats and a bunch of coppers I didn't count.

So I pretty much wrapped his coins for a few dollars in pennies.

I just went through the remnants of 3 boxes of Nickels. It should have added up to about a box and a half. 3 wars.

Right now I'm selling the 40% to increase my bankroll. I sometimes sell it to pay bills and stuff. Decembers finds will probably constitute my Christmas shopping budget instead of going to the bankroll. I also toss 25% aside to pay taxes out of each sale.

From boxes? Only 139. Including CWR's, it's a heck of a lot more, lol. Gotta be something like 400+. I'll take a couple hours to go through everything and add it all up at the end of the year. I'll take some pictures and make a thread next time I go to my SDB so you guys can drool a little bit.

I agree in regards to rewrapping your rolls. Sleaze move and every time I've gotten rewrapped rolls, they've been short a buck or two, which I imagine is the searcher pulling the silvers and not replacing with clads. On principle, I refuse to buy those now.

Box of Halves: Skunk for Silver but found a 2010-D NIFC. Filler for me.

Gonna switch from Garda to Brinks for Half Dollars this week. Garda has been SKUNK-a-roo for a while for me. I've had better luck with Brinks. We'll see what happens on Tuesday.
