You, me, and a few others seem to be the only ones who like that design Fret (though a goodly number have been minted). There was such bashing of the design back a few months ago........

Yeah it's gonna be interesting to see what the 2012 sleeper is gonna be, if ever there is one. Time will tell. :thumb:

I love the design on the Star Spangled silver proof. It is one of the best modern commemorative coins yet.

I'm saving my money for the 2013 Reverse Proof Buffalos. Buying as many as I can OR as many as the Mint will allow me to buy.

+1. People will try to complete sets in the future and the smaller denomination proof gold eagles will be in demand. Also, anything belonging to a set that has the lowest mintage in that set.

Sorry to let you down. The gimmick really bums you out? If it's any consolation, I'd only pay fifty cents for one and not an extra ten dollars for a roll. But I'm still feeding the machine, aren't I?

Hehe yep is why I bought 100 of each for $35 straight from the mint (only a $.05 markup that way) and since i've already been offered twice what i paid for them already I can't believe i did a wrong thing :D

Hey guys, a little off topic but I'm having a quick contest over at numissociety. Be there or be square. :D Oh as far as the 2012 sleeper, I'm still hoping it becomes the Star Spangled Banner Proof. :eating:

I did the same. I have the first four, and am waiting for the last one, but I don't know if I want to get it now. Just in case your one of the many normal people who ddon't follow my every post, I'm a gimmick collector ('96-W dimes all the way).

Oh yeah, Ron Paul's wife or is it Rand Paul's wife. j/k :D I know President Chester Arthur's wife died before he lived in the White House so they minted a coin to honor Alice Paul who was involved in the suffrage movement. Long story short, in Republican speak she was one of the first feminazi's to help the woman's movement. :thumb: You've come a long way baby!! :D

I see. So you're disappointed because the S - quarters are going to be struck next year?

I'm just starting out and the bulk of my collection is circulated coins. In a roundabout way I'm excited because a few coin collectors seem to be releasing the s - quarters into the wild. My main focus is quarters (it's a parent/child bonding thing) so that's why I'm on the lookout for the 2012 s. I'm a little bummed that they weren't released in a set, but who knows? Judging from the silver set, there may still be time? But then again, I don't really want to pay $10 for packaging and 5 quarters.

The 2013 S mint business strikes will definitely exceed the 1.4 +/- million of 2012, possibly creating a great demand for the 2012s within a few years.

what is our thinking on that? (not that I disagree) why the AP over the others?

Because they are probably going to be very slow sellers and the mintages should be really low... Hopefully...
