    Hi everyone,

Here are some recent finds which I am extremely happy with!!

It has taken me a while to get this stuff, I have boxes full of scrap that I have had to dig up too so its not all treasure.

I am unsure what who the siliqua is, I think the denarii is caracalla and I am unsure about the bronze, I think it could be a Celtic copy of a Roman coin

I am particularly interested in finding out if my Hadrian has a rare reverse because I can't find it.
    any info is appreciated.

    More uploaded below.

    Cheers for the info Mat,

I have been told by a few people its a rare one, I'd like to know what it is.

someone said something to do with tax or maybe some kind of altar but I don't know.

Do you know what the reverse of the Carracalla is called?

Here is the hadrian info, I dont see a pic with the caracalla reverse.

Laureate and draped bust right / LIBERTALITAS AVG III, Hadrian seated left on platform, officer standing behind, attendant standing before holding an abacus, and a citizen standing on the ground before holding out fold of toga. Nice. Were any of these found together, or were these all found separately?

I was offered £40 for it, do you think that is too little?

The dealer said it was a common issue

All separately unfortunately, I am determined to still find a hoard in these over detected fields.

You were offered 40 pounds for that hadrian? **** nah that coin is worth more then that. Its a bit rare. Even in that shape.

I place no value on it as it has to do with whatever collector will pay for it. but 40 is low.

I thought so, I'd rather keep it to be honest, its my only sestersius that actually has some good details on it.

I'd keep it too. Only sell it in you need the $. I'd keep the domna too but I just like empresses. Needs a cleaning though. The first pictures siliqua looks good too. No idea the emperor. Looks like Valens maybe?

Lol yeah I see/read so much detecting finds from there its amazing. I couldnt fathom the rush of finding something. Add more rush if it's a hoard or gold

I am quite fortunate I live in a village with loads of fields and woods behind my house.

Apparently the Danes had control of my area and Alfred the great took it back and the Normans were
    also here

I only live down the road from Alfred the greats and Edward the elders birth place!

Still no saxon pennies though ;)

Anyone know what the coin at the top right of the first picture?

I think it could be a celtic copy of a roman

Living in the US, my chances of ever finding a roman coin are pretty darn slim. The oldest coin ive found is a 1918 mercury dime but then agian ive only been detectinf gor a month and have only done 2 small locations but I will not quit until I find a hoard of silver/gold coins!
