Ran across this while cleaning out some old records. Can you guess the year of publication? If anyone has coins they wish to sell at these prices, I will buy all you have.

Maybe a '65 . Coins sure were cheaper , but the dollar was worth a whole lot more too . Still I'll take those prices anytime .

I like those prices, I'm going to guess it was published in '64.

1955...Don't make me pull out my 1933 B. Max Mahl catalog. There are actually proof Trade dollars for 80 cents.

It has to be 1964. There are no Kennedy halves in the listing.

And it shows the last Franklin half dated 1963. And it's definitely not a Redbook.

Well, it can't be a 1960 Blue Book because I have one, and I don't think it is any Red Book because not only are the mintages missing, but a lot of the late wheaties (1940-1954) are missing, too.

Think wholesale prices, not retail. The prices are "an offer to buy" from Norman Stack.

Clue: A coin discontinued now, was first minted this year.

How could they list prices for coins that haven't even been minted yet?

BINGO!!! Clue too easy. I was earning $1.60 an hour chopping cotton in 1971. Man, that was one hot job. Did this during the summer, while going to college in the fall. Hard to imagine giving an hours pay at that time for some of these coins. That was a lot of money back then.

So, can you post a scan of the "Page 4" that's cited everywhere? And who was "America's larges coin dealer" in 1971?

Cool images -- thanks for sharing! Anybody got a 1971 Redbook for comparison purposes?
