Wow Green... you're really going back to the early days of TV. One of my favorite shows, and yes, I was in love with Penny.

They are making too many 2012. I have received them when looking for rolls and had some difficulty finding a bank that didn't have brand new rolls of 2012 pennies.

It's been argued many times that the US should stop minting the penny, as it costs more than its face value to mint (so does the nickel for that matter) but there's no plans to do so any time in the definite future; pennies were minted in 2011, in 2012, and the mint plans to keep minting them indefinitely unless/until Congress tells them to stop.

On a side note, this will be the last year Canada is minting pennies (or cents for nitpcikers). The second to last one ever minted (in May, at the Winnipeg mint) was donated to ANA's Money Museum or whatever it is they call it. Starting in 2013 the smallest denomination coin Canada will mint will be their nickel (or 5 cent piece).

    R.I.P. Canadian cent, 1858-2012.

The OP im sure is well aware of this, he is a troll, so those responding to his threads are only fueling his ambitions. Good info anyhow......:thumb:

I've been sitting here for a few minutes watching the Twinkies sail by on eBay.

$20/box average, with some going significantly higher.

Why, oh, why didn't I swerve into the grocery store as soon as I heard the news Friday...

[Hey, wait a second -- I wonder if they still have them in the vending machine at work... heh heh heh]

Not to worry Jeff. That stuff was gonna kill ya anyway. I hear tell that the Twinkies can last a real long time outside of captivity. Who the devil needs all those preservatives coursing though their veins? I also hear tell that the Twinky cream filled center makes a great mortar for re-pointing the fire place bricks.......

From this day forward, no more whining about folks getting ripped off buying gold plated state quarters for a premium!

The twinkie tests I did over the last decade ( didn't mean to, just forgot them in the back of the can storage) is that they will spoil in about 8-10 years. Remember that the plastic wrapper is porous.

The label and the recipe will be sold as bankruptcy assets and back before you know it.

I'll admit to enjoying Twinkies in my misspent youth -- heck, I think I got some within the last ten years.

You'd think that, as heavily as the things already lean on artificial ingredients, they'd be able to make "functional Twinkies" with negative calories that cut your cholesterol. But, no, at this point I'm just looking at them as yet another thing to flip for a quick buck. Just need to clear it with my conscience first.
