My oldest Papal coin, but unfortunately not in a good grade Sixtus V (1585 - 1590). Billion Quattrino, Fano mint. FANVM FORTVNAE on reverse, with St. Peter stg., Papal arms on obverse. petronius :smile

Another very old coin. Clement VIII (1592 - 1605) Quattrino, 1604, Bologna Mint. Obv.: Crowned lion rampant left with banner, 1604 in ex. The rampant lion is the heraldic beast of Bologna Rev.: BONO/NIA/DOCET/ (Bologna teaches) Referring to the important cultural role of Bologna, where, in 1088, was established the first University of the world. petronius :smile
