Morgan dollar /Guess the grade !

HI all! just joined your community , I collect Morgan dollars more than any other coin, so to start things right, take a guess at what this morgan grades, I'll post results tomorrow. Have fun!

I'm gonna go out on a limb with my initial feeling of 64 DMPL (maybe 63), but I feel good about the DMPL designation.

Morgans are my favorite, too, but I hate trying to grade from photos. I'll say 64PL only because the last one I thought should have graded 64DMPL looks similar to yours but it came back from PCGS, MS64PL.

I would agree with the 63PL grade as well. The reverse is better, but the obverse is what most pay attention to.

I will hedge my bets, though, and say a 64 would not surprise me in the least considering its a CC.

 

Too much chatter on the obverse focal areas. My guess is MS63PL

 

Too rough on the obverse to be a 64. I say Ms 63 PL.

 

Do you Morgan gurus see much of a bump for CC's though? From what I have seen, I am usually surprised a little on the grade of CC morgans half the time.

Like I said, make this a P or an S and I will agree all day with you.

For GSA CC's, yes! A few years back, I submitted some 82-CC's from a 19-coin roll, and all came back pretty much as I had expected based on "normal" grading standards.
