Came across this link of some coins/collection that didn't make it through Hurricane Katrina a few years ago. Kind of makes you wonder what's happened to some of the collections on the east coast as a result of some of the wild weather. http://imgur.com/a/GMc1p
No way a 'Katrina' event here in the NE Shaun, but there sure was some destruction. Hopefully folks up here protected their collections.....Lehigh was hit hard.
Hope all is well with Lehigh, a lot of people were hit hard. A couple friends in Delaware got hammered pretty badly.
Katrina was bad on my collection, most of it sat fourteen feet under water for nearly two weeks. My paper money collection was reduced to a pile of waste. My coins were a bit easier to deal with. All of my album collections and slabs were damaged to some degree, but luckily a friend at NCS helped me conserve them. The coppers will never be the same, but I'm sure that others that didn't get the help that I had fared much worse. My coins were the least of my concern at the time, but getting them back was a wonderful feeling. My heart goes out to you guys up there, I hope that things start getting back to normal soon.
I am fine, just some minor damage to the exterior of my property. I took my expensive coins with me when I evacuated off the island. I was much more worried about looters than the weather though. All of my coins survived Frankenstorm Sandy.
