I'm really satisfied with the coin. It is very hard to photograph it though, it adsorbs a lot of light. If you put it on an angle, it has some nice, electric blue toning. I'm going to try to take more pictures of it, but it's been rough.
Uh, how can you afford any decent capped bust coinage without a job? Serious question, I have a job and I don't have a single capped bust coin of any denom.
I made the mistake of counting my chickens before they hatched. I sold a bunch of stuff on eBay. I bought coins instead of saving it, because I thought my job would of lasted longer that two days.
I didn't even know you found a job. Even if it only lasted two days. I walked out of my first job after 3 hours. Dealing coke out of the kitchen of the restaurant wasn't on the duties I signed up for. Happy hunting, enjoy the CBH...
Nice coin Detecto. Too bad about the job. Here's a hint...X-ray technologist. Health services are really hot. Beats UPS.
do you think it has been cleaned at one time? I really love the toning, you couldn't even see it in the TT pictures.
Absolutely not! The coin wouldn't be nearly as dark-brown and crusty if it had been cleaned at any point throughout its life. Were you suspicious that it had been cleaned? That coin is faaaaar from AU - it's only VF30/35.
Detecto, please post the grade, people are laughing out loud - perhaps they are justified. However, please set this to rest with a pic.
Maybe a VF35 now that I take a second look, but if that's XF... well, that's NGC for you, looks like an NGC slab.
My bad. Even though it shows a good degree of wear on the high spots, it appears to have really good detail still. PS Remind me never to grade coins for a living.
