Not just any coins, but dozens of 1883 Racketeer Nickels.

  9. Will this make her known as the nickel lady?

Very likely her husbands collection that was stolen, but why does it matter? The only thing that matters is they caught the theft and hopefully everyone got their items returned.

The thief didn't find the hobo collection? She certainly has created a lot of them over her tenure.

can we please not politicize this. sheesh. haven't wea ll had enough politics this last couple of months. theft is wrong, doesn't matter if it is from the dalai lama or john wilkes booth

Another vote for the husband's collection. When a burglar ransacks a den or library, whose stuff generally gets nicked from desk drawers, 'his' or 'hers'?

I posted this item because it was coin related, mentioning a "coin collection".

It could be a real numismatic collection, some childhood silver dollars, or even a bowl of loose change.

    :)

What matters, in this specific situation, is a few here at CT find it hilarious.

My thoughts were the same as Willie's. This report is NOT from a numismatic publication and to those reporters ANY group of coins is liable to be described as a "coin collection", even a change jar. However Nancy and her husband are not the kind of people I picture as having a "change jar".

A few here are likely thinking they arrested a petty thief and let the real criminal walk.

    This isn't politics, it's law: 18 USC § 241.

Nobody teach these crooks anything, geez. You can't go to the well too many times before you get caught. Another danger to the hobby put behind bars.
