    Only war nickels are silver they date from 1942-1945.In a box you might find 2 or 3. Some people (like me) collect 1959 and or earlier coins because of oldness and rarness.

    The real opportunity with pocket change nickels are the post-1964 coins in nice condition. These dates tend to be much scarcer in grades over F and somewhat scarcer in Unc. Also watch for varieties in all dates.

    Other than war nickels which have intrinsic silver value, most of the value of circulated Jeffersons is found in the major varieties. For example, a 1939 DDR "Doubled Monticello"

    Not trying to nit-pick, but you once again are saying .0175 cents, you really either mean .0175 dollars, or 1.75 cents.
