Novelty, and rather common I might add.

People have stamped a variety of things onto coins. I found one with a heart. Unless these have any type of historical significant they usually don't mean much. I know I took a counter-stamped coin I had to a coin show and showed to someone that does these counter-stamped coins. He said they are only more valuable if it is a widely known company that stamped it, the coin's value is usually based on the coin value rather than the counterstamp.

Yes, novelty and common. People stamp all kinds of things into cents.

The most common finds are the state outlines and Kennedy. Slightly scarcer are the Masonic symbol - someone's lucky penny got blown! I probably have several dozen Kennedy stamped cents, mostly from 1974-6 from CRH searches.

That is nicer because it is a "push out" coin, not easily spent though. Mine are just stamped.
