Hello- Please allow me to preface my question by stating that I know nothing about coin collecting. I am curious, however, about a 1966 Washington quarter that I received in change recently. It appears to be cut, but I haven't been able to determine what it was cut by and was hoping someone here might have an idea. The cut is about the width of a sheet of paper (though it looks huge in my photos). So what say you? Can someone here satisfy my curiosity? Thanks in advance for any/all help!
I'd say Jewelery saw I'm guessing something done in high school Jewelery making class. That's the only way I think you could get the angles in the cut. Just my. 02
Cool, I knew it was done post mint, but wasn't sure what was used to make a hairline cut with angles. I thought dremel at first, but didn't think it could make a cut that narrow. Thanks again!
