Updated my Peru SOLES patterns album. They make me happy :smile http://www.cointalk.com/members/derick/albums/peru-soles/
I have quite a few Un Soles from Peru that I picked up at shows in 90's. Most of them I got for spot silver. They're beautiful coins!
We do not see many coins from Venezuela here, so here are a pair modern large nickel 5 Bolivares I picked up recently.
Not new just ones I forgot I had !!! 1793 Manchester halfpenny token 1964-64 Egypt Comm Dam on the Nile
I always enjoy seeing your coins here at CT. :smile I visited Venezuela about 10 years ago and got some interest in the coins. Today I collect coins from Leprosy colonies of the world & there are some from Venezuela that I need for my collection. I also need several from the Palo Seco Leprosy colony in Panama. Here are some old crusty coins from the Leprosy colonies in Maracaibo and Providencia Island (Venezuela).
Here is my newest coin that i bought today. nothing spectacular, it is a 1930 silver 50 leva from bulgaria. I will fit nicely with my foreign silver collection, and i got it for $1.00 over melt value.
I have always found the Lundy issues of 1929 to be curious. I picked up a nicely matched MS65BN pair. Each was minted in a quantity of 50,000 pieces. Their history is quite interesting, and a simple Google search for "Lundy Puffin 1929" will take you to many sites for further reading.
I think this belongs in birds thread but i will post it here as well. The coin was issued by Cyprus to commemorate the 30th yr anniversary.
Want to share these I got the weekend, KM 155.3 Chile 1915 silver 0.45 centavos with "flat" and "curved" top part of the 5 in the date. The "curved" specimen is UNC with very nice toning. The condor in these coins were struck mostly with low relief compared to the KM 165 struck from nickel shown in bottom specimen.
Does anyone know why the '96 maple leaf (mintage of 250,455) has a higher premium than the '97 with the lowest mintage at 100,970? taken from goldeneagle.com
