Here is another coin that my dad has recently purchased. It is a 1904 Indian Head Cent in the old Rattler holder from PCGS. I feel like it has been slightly under-graded and would like some other people to have their input on what the grade might be. Thanks -Kyle
The obverse looks fine. On the reverse there is a nice ding between the shield and the E in one cent. I also see a couple small light scratches. I would assign it MS63.
I feel that grade is warranted. I feel that the nick on the reverse is holding it back from 65. Just my 2 cents.
I'd send it to CAC if it is higher grade it will get a gold bean. An old rattler slab like that with a gold bean will sell much higher than a 65 grade in a new slab
I had to think this over a bit... so a MS64RB CAC in a Rattler wound fetch more money then a MS65RB in the new holder?
I believe it would the older holders sell for more. I most deffinately wouldn't send it in to get re graded. Those rattlers are hard to find because most of them got sent in to upgrade.
