This is awesome and thanks for the info. This should be stickied so it does not need to be resurrected every so ofter.
If we sticky'ed every thread that was worth a sticky - you'd have to go thru 20 pages of sticky threads to get to the new ones.
Great post & look forward to seeing it again in the future. IMO a good, consistent point light source is crucial to good, consistent grading. I strive to look at the obverse & reverse in random orientations for a few seconds and then apply my first impression grade to the coin. I then look at the obverse of the coin more closely with the naked eye & decide if I need to go up or down a point. I then use a 7x to look at the entire obverse again asking myself if I need to go up or down a point. At this point, I'm pretty sure I have my grade & I look at the reverse under the 7x magnification. The reverse won't necessarily get me to bump-up my grade but it can certainly be neutral or negative to the grade in my mind. Great post & look forward to seeing it again in the future. Very best regards, collect89
Indeed it's not. Now lets hope we in the metro area don't get stuck with this so called frankenstorm.....
