I believe that is the only one graded MS69 by PCGS right now with none in MS70. NGC currently grades 18 in MS69 with none higher. Also, the asking price for the coin on Ebay is about 11-12 times higher than NGC list for this coin.
For all you guys on the NGC website that I can recognize, I just sent you guys a follow request. It will be from hunter's gold. you know who you are. LOL
I'm glad you liked this thread. It's been a popular topic and I'm sure it will be ongoing. I think I'm going to start either a "days of" large cents or nickels thread since we are close to the end of this one.
If I can take proper pictures, I will definitely participate in the large cents (not that mine are special, but how can you not be proud of a large cent).
That is true, large cents have a lot of history to them. I find the beat up culls, verdigris, scratched up pieces compelling. They're a time capsule to some of the most enigmatic events in U.S. history. I'm not certain, but I like to think my 1851 braided hair dropped out of General McClellen's pocket during the Battle of Antietam.
Yep, just got a nice G4 1803 yesterday. I enjoy holding it wondering who held/spent it 200 years ago.
Ok, ok, how come everyone has a 1995 "double die" and I don't. I'm feeling like I'm gonna have to break down and get one to be complete.
