So, something tragic has happened. I went to my favorite local shop this weekend (Gulf South coins) and bought the prettiest 1878 CC PCGS MS-64 PL Morgan dollar that I have ever seen. In an old green holder, that beautiful Morgan that looked every bit like a MS-65 DMPL had graceful indigo transitioning into lavender toning as it shined like a thousand carrot diamond gleaming in the summer sun. I was drawn to it like a virgin to a strip club. I just had to have it. I asked the dealer what he wanted for it, and he gave me a price that was about $400 less than I was willing to pay for it. I didn't bother haggling with him and I was the new proud owner of that splendid piece. Which leads me to today...I can't find it!!! I have looked everywhere, my house is in shambles and it is nowhere to be found. I can't think of anyplace that it could be. Today is a sad day.
I know the pain. Had a nickel struck in a cent out the other day and is nowhere to be found. I did some cleaning that dAy , I hope I didn't toss it
I remember having it inside the house and I remember trying to take an image of it, but that's it. I have no idea what I did with it after that. This really bums me out.
Have you checked with the wife to see if she's returned it to get your *cough* her *cough* money back for it? On a more serious note, have you checked all of your obvious counters/desks/tables? That's where most of the things I lose end up, except my glasses. When I lose my glasses they're usually still on my face
Ask your better half to check the places you had it last. My wife has found things so obvious I did not see when I looked.
Stop looking for it and it will turn up sooner than later. At least that's how it works with me and my constant missing wallet. Although the contents of my wallet are of much less value than that Morgan.
I am starting to worry that I threw it away when I had to do a quick house cleaning the other day. There was an unplanned party for the Saints (Who Dat) game at my house on Sunday and I didn't think to call my GF and invite her over. it was really just a guy thing. When she called me later that evening I rushed through the house and picked up all of the trash and threw it out. I hope I didn't sweep it off of a table into the trash. I guess time will tell. One little white lie and the coin gods punish me...
You are improving on the way you ask, but right now is not the right time. When he finds it would be a better time.
Did you check near or in your camera case..maybe you were just in a hurry. I hope one day it will just jump right out at you, a day when you need the cheer!
Put it in the fridge when you went for a beer? Someone, at your place, watching the game took it? Check all you pockets the washing machine and dryer? Maybe the whole thing was a dream
