Welcome, there is nothing wrong with your photographing, I wish I could do half as good. I've tried to add a few pictures to one of our competitive sets http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=43295 and a few pictures to our showcase set http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase.aspx?sc=1165 I will try to add more pictures later on. Not sure if you are new to coins, or just new to CoinTalk, but welcome. Also, I think Kennedy's are a great series to collect, very attractive design IMHO, and also very affordable if you stick to PR69UC (as opposed to 70).
I would not crack it out, but that's just me. Also, welcome! Glad to see that newcomers are finding this thread. Maybe Kennedy's are about to come into their own?
I have posted this elsewhere on CT, but hopefully not in this thread. Maybe someone will find it of use.
New to cointalk, kinda new to collecting, have always keep some coins since i was a kid and am now starting to get more into it. What is PR69UC?
Thanks for the welcome. This one was actually 1 of 3 that I have. One got cracked right away for the album, I'm sitting on these 2. I kind of like them the way the are, so no plans to crack them soon...
:thumb:Nice!!! But Don't Crack them out. the 50th Av is around the bend + cracking them out will make them worth just silver melt $$.my2c
Ok, here is obverse endroll coin from that roll I mentioned, which is NOT mine, but in my possession for the foreseeable future. This is the coin that the owner gnawled and pulled and probably scratched while trying to get it out of the roll, even as I stood there begging him to stop and after I told him the potential value of the roll and how important it is NOT to clean, smash, bite, sandblast, etc. Well, he wouldnt listen and of course he immediately got his dirty paw-print on the reverse of the coin, again, against my adamant fist banging and look of horror. (I guess even when informed by a person they trust, non-coin people still just dont get it?!) Obverse is not that attractive, and the luster suffers. Reverse is VERY lusterous, otherwise pretty nice except for the slimy prints. Oh well, at least he didnt open the whole roll. Oh, by the way, he was gonna dump this roll for melt along with other parts of his hoard, until I stepped in. More pics to come, but since the second coin in is blast white, I am not too hopeful for any remarkable toners.
Well other than the endrolls, the coins are bright lusterous white, is that what people call brilliant? There are some splotches on the coins, and other than a few fingerprints (one coin ruined by boss, one coin ruined by me), coins are VERY pretty, but probably very normal as well for uncirculated kennedy silver. Boy, silver is nice. I dont think coins will ever be as nice as when circulated coins were made out of silver, and I'm not even a bullion guy. Note to self: invest in some darn cotton gloves.
I am so bad with Double Dies. Sometimes I think I see them, and then I blink and it's gone. I'll look online and see if I think any of the coins stand a chance, and maybe post back some close ups for your review. And now for something completely different: ah, to be 10 again.
There is a few quick pictures in this link of the 1964 DDO-007 and DDR-001 http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase.aspx?sc=1165
