Doubtful...the rich premium on the 2009 UHR's has been coming down, as far as I can see.

It often takes 10-12 years for a bubble to burst and find a base.

Just to show you than not all of the 2009 Ultra High Relief double eagles are not made the same. This one is messed up because of die polishing. It's the one I got from the mint, and I was not pleased. It's the reason why I bought another one. The grading services should down grade these, but if they don't, be aware.

Couldn't your return the coin, John ?

I could have returned it to the mint, but that was strictly on my dime. If the mint sends you crap, you have to pay to send it back. or at least you had to pay then. That's one of the down sides to ordering from the mint. I sold it for bullion for a profit, so I landed on my feet.

The mint will provide a return mailing label for return on them. You just have to get the package to a UPS store.

To me, the reverse looks fine, but those marks really do detract on the obverse.

    100% the high relief.
The 1925 certainly has its appeal but the quality of that HR is incredible.

As usual, a tough choice! If I win the MegaMillions tonight, Ill order BOTH and also, what the heck, an original 1907 too. And hey, Heritage has a $50 Pan-Pac Octagonal for sale too........who bought that gold Eid Mar....?

In all seriousness, since my luck is terrible, its likely going to be one or the other.

Ill be honest I love both, but myself, I think I would have to go with the original 1925, the 2009 is absolutely beautiful but I prefer my gold "old" :D
