An interesting idea . I would like to see some of these up close. I may buy the Antimony just because I like its name. What these guys are trying to do is produce standard-size coins made from as many different metals and elements from the Periodic Table of the elements as they can. So far they have 53 coins (not including varities) http://www.elementsales.com/ecoins.htm
Isn't antimony a toxic heavy metal similar to lead? I know they use it regularly in pewter, and that it's not AS BAD as lead, but I thought it was still bad.
I believe that any coin that is toxic or reactive is encased in resin for protection. I read somewhere on the site as well a list of the metals & elements stability & reactivity when in its coined form.
I remember an old thread about a Chinese coin that was made from antimony. http://www.cointalk.com/t190386/
Everything is radioactive & anything could survive an atomic blast depending on proximity & protection at the time.
