Thoughts/Grade on this 1916D Barber Quarter

    Thanks for the reply. Was hoping to stretch it VF20 but I'm leaning towards 15 as well. I am also thinking it was cleaned.

    I think the coin could make VF 20. The lower leaves are still clear, all letters in Liberty are easily seen, and the motto on the reverse ribbon is clear.

    Yes, it has been wiped, but so what, most 100 year old coins have been, and the cleaning doesn't appear to be too harsh. Over all a very nice looking example.

    Thanks mike. Yeah I'm aware that most have been cleaned at one time or another. I agree this didn't look to harsh or recent so I decided to pick it up.

    Regardless of whether it's a F-15 or VF-20, I really like the natural look of that coin. Excellent photography too!

    Yes, it is a very eye appealing coin. I think it would rate a VF-20.
