This Sunday October 21st the Glendale coin club is hosting its Annual Coin show. 10am-4:30pm Van Nuys Masonic hall 14750 Sherman way, Van Nuys, Ca. Gold and silver drawing Youth Auction admission $3 YNs under 18 free free parking So who's going?
Will definitely be there, especially since I'm the V.P. of the club Even if I wasn't part of the club, I'd still be going as it's one of the better local shows. There are several commercial shows held at the Van Nuys Masonic Lodge during the year, but this is not one of those shows. This show is much more active as a much bigger crowd comes in for the Youth Auction and the Gold & Silver Coin Drawing. Additionally, many of the dealers who set up at this show do not set up at other shows so this is the one chance during the year you can see their inventory and deal with them. Several club members (including the OP and myself) also will be setting up and will have coins for sale at the show. The Youth Auction is a great opportunity for collectors under 18 to compete against other YNs for some really cool coins at no charge. All of the coins being auctioned were donated to the club and each YN starts with the same amount of auction cash... it's up to the YN whether they bid it all on one item that they really really want, or whether they try to spread it out and win several lots. The Gold & Silver coin drawing is also fun and brings in a good crowd. This year we're giving away 3 gold coins and 5 silver coins. Tickets for the drawing are $2 each or six tickets for $10 and you do NOT need to be there to win. Accordingly, if any forum members want to get in for a chance, you are welcome to contact me and I can fill in the tickets on your behalf and ensure they get into the drawing. If you're in SoCal and like coins, then please consider coming out to the show! See you there!
Tough crowd around these here parts.........So no-one from SoCal is headed to this show except for illini420?
Tell your dad he can have an In n' Out burger, he'll never have a Blakes Lottaburger again. btw what's the Glendale Coin Club doing in Van Nuys?
Great idea A good question. I think it is because the Masonic lodge is a show friendly venue. Also other shows at the same place, so us coin folk don't have to try and remember new directions. So is that a confirmation of your attendance onecoinpony?:thumb:
Unfortunately Van Nuys is a long ways north of me. My drive time just to the Long Beach show, with no traffic is over an hour.
In n Out does a vegetarian sandwich too. Basically it's a grilled cheese, but with grilled onions and their spread(thousand island). I had a girlfriend in HS who used to swear by them
Last chance........Ok well I hope that some of you can make it to the show. Not sure what table illini420 and I will be at, but stop by and say hello....
