I think you're absolutely right, hence the switch to quarters. I don't want to mess with that many nickels and I'm not in to pennies.

The one dump bank that's ever offered to take coins in bags instead of rolls dropped the F-bomb on me today out of the blue. They said I was doing it "too often" to not charge a fee. I hadn't been there since July when I dropped off a bag for the first time. Fortunately the branch manager waived the fee for this one time after I explained that I was never told about any fees whatsoever, and that they couldn't even tell me how much it would be. So one dump branch down. (Not too disappointed; the location isn't particularly convenient.)

4 boxes of halves : 2 40%'s and two proofs, not silver though. Did find a 2000 D penny stuck to the magnet at the Penny Arcade when returning them. It looks legitimate like a real penny but was magnetic. Anyone have any guesses? I guess it could be a fake made of steel but who would make a fake penny?

 

Todays box of halves broke a skunk streak. We got 1x90% and 3x 40%. Nice box after 4 skunks. I hope Friday's box has something. Still a decent month going with 9 more boxes to do this month. We have gotten spoiled and I know it is cyclical so as many say it is about volume.

Could someone tell me what I need to create a new bank account? It's been so long since I opened my last one, I can't remember any of it.

Wells Fargo just managed to get 3 strikes in about 30 minutes...
#1, I call an hour in advance, tell them to have my pickup ready... not ready.
#2, Get there, they say they have to get a manager to get into the vault. Takes like, 15 minutes. I don't have 15 minutes, this is why I called in advance, idiots.
#3 Drop the boxes. Yes, they dropped the boxes. Coin all over the place.

Colossal waste of time when I had none to waste. Screw you WF.

 

My WF is great, but one time, this new guy said" we can't order any coins for you"so I called over the branch manager(great friend) he gets it for me, btw, once, my first ever order, from educators CU, the supervisor wasn't in so my box of pennys wasn't ordered, was told that when I called in advance, took 2 weeks instead of one, they also told me that I can't order boxes or buy rolls of coins because I was dumping them there, asked,"if I dumped them elsewhere than could I order" they said "no", yet whenever I go there to dump now, because they won't order, I always see people getting tons of coin, yet I get none, wf takes my coins in rolls, and orders for me! Gor wf!!!

 

My WF has the same type of problem, it takes forever and a day for them to get coins from the vault.

Cashed my check and ordered two boxes of dimes for next week at the place I dump halves, they are great. Also grabbed a quick cup of coffee.

Previously I posted that I got skunked on a box of Dimes ($250). However when I went back to the same bank to pick up some nickels, I saw a shimmer of white gleaming from the tellers tray (dimes). I asked the nice teller if I could see that particular coin. Expecting to see a nice silver roosie, I was well surprised when instead it was a lovely merc (42'). Obviously, I bought it along with my two boxes of nickels (going on a buffalo hunt...along with V nicks and war nick of course; gonna pick up 4 more boxes of nickels, a box of dimes and 2 boxes of halves on my way home)...pic of the merc below.
