LOL! I just looked at the Auction you won and simply cannot believe that you said "......and needed each coin to be flawless, as they were in the picture of the lot I won."

How could you possible tell that these were "flawless"?

Now, if you'd have said that you expect the coins that you receive to be bright white such as "what" was pictured in the listing, I'd bet you'd have gotten a quick response.

As it sits, your email to the seller has all the earmarks of a troublesome buyer.

Well...

I got the dimes today, and had to open a case (no returns accepted).

2 of the dimes are fine, but one has toning. I specifically ask the seller if these were the dimes I would receive, and if they have any toning. The seller said these are the dimes shown, and the ones I will be getting.

Then later on the invoice:
Please pay for these dimes, they are the ones pictured, and they do not have any spots, toning, or blemishes.

So this seller has lied to me twice. The dime I got has different writing than the photo, and one of them is toned and smudged.

 

Come on Tim, is this really worth stressing over?

The dime looks great to me.

"The coins my husband sent you were the EXACT ones pictured and described. They absolutely matched the description, I DID respond to your email, and the item is NOT damaged! They DID NOT have a smudge nor toning. He DID NOT lie to you! The coins are worth $2/coin to melt. He will give you back the $1.25 over melt value. And please, I feel this is a scam that you are pulling, so we will not allow you to bid, as you are right now, on our other coins!"

Wow, flew right off the handle, thinks I'm pulling a scam, and blocked me from bidding.

How is it possible that I would be receiving the dimes pictured when you were running multiple auctions of the same thing? You had ANOTHER auction running of the 1946 PDS. Both auctions had the SAME pic.

As you can see, the 1946-P and 1946-S MATCH the ones in the photo, but the 1946-D does not.

Toned and smudged, not acceptable. This does not match the picture or the message you sent to me in an invoice.I want a refund of the dime and the shipping cost. This "mistake" of yours has cost me to order another dime, of which I will have to pay the cost of the dime AND shipping. If you do not reimburse me the $5.42 I will escalate this to a claim. Honesty is important while conducting business. Your accusations and false statements will not be tolerated.

Actually, no you were not lied to at all as you KNEW going in on this auction the seller was using a stock photo, which appeared in other auctions for the same type coins. Go back to your opening post

I didn't really mind the fact of a stock photo, but I thought at least since all 3 lots sold, the seller could at least send me the ones shown. If not, they could of sent me other BU ones.

Here is the exact message on the invoice:

No matter how you slice it, the seller lied, plain and simple. She said "no spots, no toning" and I got both.

It's not like I'm trying ask for a refund on a $300 coin, I'm asking for $5.42 to cover this "mistake".

 

Seriously, get away from eBay. Put the energy you're using right now to stress over a little toning on a dime into something more important.

Good. I had an interview at UPS today.

I'm not stressing out over it, it just kind sucks because now I have to wait for another 46-D BU to come up on eBay. The BIN listings are too high.

Good luck at UPS. From what I understand, it's a good place to work. Get a drivers license (with CDL) or there will be no chance at advancement.

Keep the coin. As BU said, it's a beauty. I think you're pushing too hard on that one. If nothing else, let it be a lesson (hopefully) learned.

 

I actually thought about keeping that coin, but that smudge is an eyesore, you can see it from a foot away.

 

As Green can attest you will probably start out as a seasonal sorter working nights. Impress the boss and go full time. Then local driver. Then 18 wheelers.

Back in the day almost none of the UPS muck a mucks had any college, let alone a degree. They promoted only drivers into management. They had a sweet deal back in the 60's and 70's where supervisors and managers got a year end bonus in UPS private stock (not public back then). It did so well some guys were retiring in their thirties. You'll become a Teamster, so try to wear a button that says you support Jimmy Hoffa.:thumb:

It's EARLY morning, 4am to 8:30am. You bust your butt, but for only 4.5 hours though. Starting pay is 9.50 an hour, that's great!

I have a 2nd interview at 6am tomorrow morning.

The interviewer said a lot of people quit because they can't handle the work. 4.5 hours does not sound that grueling. She also said there is a possibility of staying beyond a "peak employee" (seasonal). It is based on work ethic and performance.

So I will go in with a good attitude, bust my butt, and hopefully stick around longer than 12/31.

 

I will keep it if I get refunded and don't have to send it back, otherwise out it goes, either way it's not going in my album.

 

Tell you what, you keep that dime. The annual coin show is coming up here Nov. 2nd and 3rd. I'll find you a 46D that I'm sure you'll like. No smudges, no tarnish, no skid marks from someone's crusty undies, and I'll shoot you a PM and we'll work something out between us.

I'll probably pass it on to a YN or something.
