Why not just buy cleaned coins at a discount Ruben? Why get a coin and RUIN it by cleaning it? Do your best, I'm ready.

You know Doug, I haven't heard much from you of late and I really miss you. I hope all is going well for you. Florida is a far way from Utah.

I'm doing as well as can be expected Ruben, thanks for caring. And yeah Florida is a long way from Utah. But that's where I started out when I first went out on my own, and now, most of my family lives down here as well. And I always liked FL, hated to leave when I did 30 years ago. So now I'm back.

Trust me, he learned it years ago Kirk. You just have to know Ruben to understand what he writes. Quite often what he really means is the exact opposite of what he types.

Other times, he writes what he does just to get people going.

I realize that, I wasn't going to fuel the fire though unless he started making references to sand paper or brillo pads or the like. To tell you the truth, I was a little disappointed that he let me off the hook so easily.

Didn't realize you recently moved to FL. Hope you enjoy it, was in GA for awhile myself and dipped down into FL a few times. Only things that bother me about FL are the bugs and the occasional hurricaine. Good luck there.

GDJMSP, didn't know you had moved to Florida either. Maybe one day I'll drive down and have a cup of coffee with ya!
    Keep your powder dry.

So - I think the best means of cleaning coins is as follows

Brush off crud and excessive dirt, mud and soil.

Soak in a light vinegar solution for 48 - 72 hours

Using dental tools, cotton gloves and a high powered magnifying glass, remove fine particle elements from the coin.

Finely polish with Windex and a microfiber rag. Not, do not use fantastic or it will damage coins beyond repair.

Enjoy your wonderfully bright and shiny coins!

You should cruise the A1A strip now Doug. Do it on an empty stomach though.
