What's the most you've ever spent on a coin?

    $175 for a 1798 S-174 Draped Bust Cent. That is the current record that I hope to beat in the near future.

    I bought an 1877 at $850 last August, a 1909s indian at $600 last december, a 1914d at $250, and
    am purchasing a 1909s v.d.b. in XF for $1185 this month.

    The most I've spent so far - 3 grand on an excessively rare Mexico 8 Reales.

    My 3 most expensive purchases:

    World Coins:
    $ 9000 for a rare Santiago mint 8 reales dated 1768 (which turned out to be a fake)
    $ 2700 for a rare Santiago mint 8 reales dated 1787
    $ 2500 each for 3 roman Aurei

    U.S Coins
    $ 3300 for a Massachusetts pine tree shilling
    $ 2800 for a 1796 dime
    $ 1700 for a 1795 flowing hair $

    I have a problem when it comes to spending a large amount on a coin.
    That problem being is I don't have a large amount to spend. They don't call me gbroke for nothin...

    At $120, which was a steal, this was my most expensive purchase for a single coin, which I know is peanuts compared to you big Bawlers.
