Friday's box of halves..... Pepe' LePew

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…" --Thomas Jefferson

Every time I get paid I grab two rolls of dollar coins for the kids (lunch money and allowances). To my surprise, one roll was 2012-D Sacs! They weren't in mint packaging, but they all looked uncirculated.

LOL the secret city where people don't know what silver is.

No, just kidding, outside of Philadelphia, I'm just on an exceptionally good run of pallets, I guess.
Ha, that road trip might be worth it.

    Tonights two boxes... 10 40%ers, 3 '64's. :D

    $92 worth of nickels : '36 buff, 12 40's (including 46-S [in great shape!] and 49-S), 9 50's.

I've been through well over $2000 of nickels in the past few months and the only three buffalos I've found were in my last three bank trips within the last week, and one was a 1913. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me to convert to Native Americanism?

When you all go through rolls are you just looking at dates or are you looking for errors as well?

Yep. Ended up a pretty good box, 2 wars, 3 buff. The enders were '44-P and '20-D. Shame the Buff took a bit of roller damage, still fills a hole in my collection of Buffs. The other two buffs were a '35 in VF30 or so, and a dateless one. The other war is also a nicer coin, '45-P in low AU.

$100 of rolled Nickels from 4 different banks. $52 were CWR and $48 were BWR. I had much better luck finding 30's, 40's, & 50's with BWR than CWR. Strange.

From $100, I got: 1x1939, 15x1940's (including a 1944-P War...my 1st one roll hunting!), 11x1950's and LOTS of 1960's but I never keep them. Too many 1964's for my taste.

Are any 1960's nickels worth keeping?

    $90 CWR halves: Nothing
Two boxes of halves: One '64, seven 40%. Got us really pumped for the baseball game tonight, but I guess we used up all our luck on the coins!

I asked the bank tellers if they do this and they all said it is against the rules and could get them fired! works out for me though cuz they call me when they get silver in and i come out ahead. every once in a while i will slip a proof or a 40%er in a thank you card and give it to the tellers that hook me up.

My fiance works at Bank of America. All they would have to do is make a transaction with another teller as if they were a customer if they want any coins.
