The thief that was the subject of this original post (from 2 years ago) is from the Fresno area in Central California and I doubt he will be at your show.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS! Keep your cases locked, keep track of any coins being shown to customers, watch the "loose" coins laid out on the table (like notebooks, junk boxes, etc.), don't let people remove coins from sight (like putting them on their lap or stepping away from the table with a coin), etc. Remember, the most benign looking person can be a thief, so keep your eyes open and pay attention.

There are several of threads here and on other coin forums discussing this.

Then just report anything to security if you see that might be suspicious.

I have heard that at other coin shows people(dealers) have been followed for miles and then robbed, we are not going to be driving far to get there, within 5 miles, is there much to worry about in terms of that happening?

Don't flash a lot of cash at the show, just be diligent when you leave a show, and look around to make sure no one follows you.

Being careful, alert and cautious at any coin show is always a good rule.

Nevermind. Amazingly, I had opened another window of page 4 that I didn't realize which had all of my incredible, life-changing and thought-provoking posts before they were removed. I have since taken screenshots as these now removed posts may well hold the key to preventing crime at coin shows (and much more) in the future.

I can see them, and I wouldn't begin to consider bringing them out of the trash. No offense to you as a person, just very much offense to your posts. IMO.

They are visionary, may they forever be preserved and one day compared to the works of Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope. I would hold onto those posts if I was you, someday people will come looking for the original source of my screenshots. They could well be worth some big money in the future as they will be recognized as the key to abolishing crime the world over.

WOW, that's all I can think of to say..... and though with your state of mind I can see how you might, please don't interpret that as a compliment.

If anything was known of Pope or Swift it would have been correlated how their satirical writings, like my posts, were written crudely without much concern for tact or refinement. Post 54 was sarcasm, but sadly, I think it has or will have gone over the heads of most who will read this thread.

Only, I think, if I fail to clean my shoes thoroughly before going upstairs this evening.

Perhaps you could learn to use a smilie to denote sarcasm :)

One would think the pumped up ego from which I spoke would have been enough to denote the use of sarcasm. Words such as "incredible, life-changing, thought-provoking and visionary" give it away that I either had a highly inflated ego or that I was being sarcastic. Like I said, I feel a lot of what I said will go over the heads of most who read my above posts. That is just the way of it on a public forum where everyone, from the modestly educated to the highly intellectual, can read what has been written regardless if they are qualified to do so or not.

So, in other words, you're still at it, right?
