First look at the US Mint's gold eagle sales YTD, way down. Second they are god awful ugly, for the most part.

The price of gold is being driven by speculators and it has reached a tipping point for people who want to byuy gold coins or Jewlery.

The price of gold is being driven by the ever declining value of worthless fiat currency. Yes, speculation places a part, on both the the rise and fall but I don't believe it's the primary driver. I completely agree, though, that the current POG is a huge factor in slowing Mint sales.

A lot of folks started with plans to do the complete set. I gave up after a while. At current prices it's an 80K plus set. I had it figured at about 36K when the program started.

OH PLEASE - this is like a broken record.

Send me all your worthless fiat money...

I'll send you the postage stamps for shipping.

Deal, send me your speculated, over priced gold and I'll send you FRN's. Since gold is obviously overvalued, what a fair price? $800 an ounce? No need for stamps though, I'll pick up the shipping both ways. BTW, If you don't want opinions then don't ask questions.

I'm not stupid enough to own gold because it can not be used to pay my taxes, or my child support, or my rent, or the electric bill. Strangley enough for 2 of 4 of those if I don't have fiat money I go to Fiat jail...

As for your gold, keep it. I only want US Dollars.

I agree! As long as the dollar is backed by the US Congress's power to tax & borrow...the dollar will never lose its luster.

(if only we can find a way to make the 1% pay just a little bit more...and more...and more)

I wasn't being sarcastic. I was saying that US Dollars are not going to become worthless as long as the US Government can tax. It is the ONLY form of payment the government accepts or pays in.

You want to strengthen the dollar. It is a simple thing and can be done over night. Quadruple taxes.
