    hello coin talk,
yesterday i was again looking through soe lose change, and found what looked like a SILVER 1965 dime, i know some of you may be thinking "wait, there were no 1965 SILVER dimes made, how is this possible, well before posting this i did some research, and turns out they are real. one was sold at an action in the thousands of dollars. i weighed it against other silver dies and the results cae in, it was the same weight!
but this could be a fake, i know that some people do make frauds, and its illeagle, but they do it. question is is it real or is it one of those frauds that could get soeone finned?

PS. i am not trolling! pictures coming soon!

Am I to understand that your 1965 dime weighs 2.50 g, not 2.27 g? (Sorry, but your post is filled with typos which make it somewhat difficult to understand what you are trying to say.)

    here let me check,

yeap. (i compared it to a 1962 silver dime, they weigh the same but that dose not prove anything, because of frauds and what not.

(sorry for typos, horrible at typeing:rollling:

The question in the poll is easy if you have the dime in hand. The hard question is "Is it genuine?"

If I were a betting man, the safe bet would be "No".

Of course I hope for your sake that it is.

The 1965 quarter thread was quite interesting in many ways. Many, many, diverse lessons to be learned.

The chances of your 1965 dime being 90% silver are extremely slim, but there is a chance. Don't go spending it until you have a professional opinion of your coin. There are folks here that will be able to advise you as to getting that opinion.

You are one of the rare posters on this subject. You didn't come here with your first post insisting that you have the holy grail and that everyone here is totally ignorant because they don't agree with you. You attitude toward this coin and toward us is a plus in this regard.

Don't give up until you are absolutely sure.

It's all good. We are all here to help. We all want people to make that really cool find.

About a month ago, I posted regarding what I thought was a nickel or steel 1941 cent (it can hold 8 other cents between it and the magnet). After many posts, I looked closer for quite a while, and I think one side is coated in a silverish magnetic compound. I haven't given up hope yet, but I know I have a lot more to investigate before declaring it more than a copper cent.

Yeah, at least he said he weighed it and was asking our opinions as opposed to loudly KNOWING what he has. In the realm of silver 1965 -1969 coinage threads, this is one of the least objectionable. :)
