    hello coin talk,
today i wanted to talk about my bicentennial coin collection. (and even though this site is called "coin talk) i'de also want to talk about my bicentennial 2 dollar bill. and you can also talk about your own bicentennial coin collection as well on this thread.

for starters i inherited 2 iteas of my collection, they are the bicentennial 1976 2 dollar bill and my 1976Eisenhower dollar coin, but i found the 1976 quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. now all i need is the 1976 jfk dollar coin wich i hope to get tomorrow.:D

The only coins produced with the dual date to celebrate the Bicentennial were the dollar, half dollar and quarter dollar. Besides the clad specimens in the proof sets, the Mint also made 3-coin proof and uncirculated sets of 40% silver.

i know i just want to colect the coins made in 1976, even if only a few where made to celebrate it.

That would be the half dollar, not dollar

I think it was just a typo since he had already mentioned the Ike dollar.

It seems to me that upwards of 10% of the Kennedy halves I get from "circulation" (banks and grocery tills) are 1776-1976. If you can find halves at all, you should be able to find your "missing piece" pretty quickly. Good luck!

Yes... even in "bu". Keep in mind that a LOT of people held onto these assuming that they would be worth money someday, so it's not that uncommon to find uncirculated coins showing up at banks. Obviously not all will be unc, but the point is that if one wishes to look, they can be had rather easily.

True, but in bu it's still worth a few bucks, better than face
