True, a scale is a must. Regarding my Blech comment, I didn't use to think like that in the past. My motivations and tastes for buying a coin have changed in the past years but I still buy what I like. Today I'm more fixated to seeking some kind of exposure to a pm in my buys. Just think about the great number of Imperial silver coins selling for bullion value in many cases or more general any coin with currently little numismatic value, and the prospect of potential melting with rising spot prices resulting in increased numismatic value. And lets be honest who doesn't want to see an appreciation in value of his own coins? Also there are many very beautiful coins being minted out of base metals and a good design is a good design, I can see myself for example buying some nice South American coins in the future. Even if I don't buy them I still like all the different coins to be posted here.

Nice design, and the combination of the medal and the stamps is quite attractive. By the way, this is the coin that Italy issued on that occasion ... with the Sibilla Delfica on the other side. But I think the coin was not actually issued in '75, so your medal came in time.

I assume that the dot on your coin is raised out of the surface in relief. If so, then it could be a chip in the die which transferred to the coin as a raised bump (dot). When you have a new question like this, you should create a new thread in the appropriate forum section. This will allow more interested people to see your question. You might post the photo in either the (coin chat) section or the (error coin) section. If you include a descriptive title like "what is this dot at the date?" then more people might click on it & provide their comments.
