Because like all kids, he thinks he knows it all, when in fact he knows very little. Just like my grand kids.
I went back to what was posted earlier about double dies, and compared the two. I just have one question, why doesn't the top of the "o" come down like the double die in the 69 cent?
Now there is a quote of the year.. nobody else has found one so therefor it can not be.. OP, You can send the coin in for Attribution to CONECA. (Although I am leaning towards MD) Contact either John Wexler or James Wiles. Both gentlemens information can be found on the CONECA website. www.conecaonline.org
Can you read minds? I too am leaning towards SD, but it does appear to be a stronger than average example. Also, and in addition to my post from yesterday, it is Brian Ribar who does 5C doubled die attributions for Wexler. http://www.briansvarietycoins.com/attributions
HEY! got home from work opened the email. Oh by the way I contacted Mr. Wexler.....drum roll please...................FRICKING JUNK!........BA DUM DUM....... YEP, had my hopes up. gonna retire, never work again-----well..........."DIE DETERIORATION DOUBLING"....and "A form of damage"......................The best is........ "Coins with this common form of doubling have NO EXTRA VALUE!".......... Thanks to all who gave me Mr. Wexlers address and website----I have learned volumes from just this one coin----kudos to all of you---thanks..
that darn die detoration doubling can trick a lot of us. I have some 1994 quarters I'm keeping where the letters in IN GOD WE TRUST and the date looks to be almost totally seperated and appears to be two sets of overlapping letters . the coins created from worn dies can be tricky because all of them will look about the same until the die wears out more.
