And what other kinds of numbers are there? That's what I love about CoinTalk - all the new things I learn. Believe it or not, until I read your post I had never realized that the condition/grade of a coin assigned by a TPG can tell us how many more of that exact variety are in existence.
I have been going since I was 9, I am currently 33. I no longer enjoy it like I did, mainly cause of the crowds being very unbearable.
As to the dime penny error, it's not garbage, but it has been shown, I personally like it very much, but Im not everyone, and the majority is done seeing it
Don't get him started (again)!! By the way, "finest known" or not, that's one choice MS62. I think it should've gotten at least a 64. Clean fields, no noticeable nicks, and a super strong strike (with a hint of colorful toning around the periphery). I wonder if that person might want to CAC it...
redwin117 Said zachfromnj Said Just for information purposes guys. The numerical grade on a coin (MS64 and such) has Nothing to do with how many are out in the world. It is the grading companies and coin collectors opinion of the condition of the coin using the Sheldon Scale of coin grading a numeric system going from Mint State (MS) 1 To Mint State (MS)70 for Circulation coins or Business Strikes and Proof 1 To Proof 70 for grading Proof Coins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin_grading I hope this will help clear up some of the confusion :smile It has been a Great Week End to play with the coins again.
Uh yeah I do. When I was 9 and going to comic con it was nearly all comic book and artists. Now its nothing but tv shows, movies, toys, clothes and only a few rows just for comics. And ive gone to countless local ones that arent a big con with media hype. So please dont act like I know nothing
Nahhh I caught it. But since later in the thread it came up again I thought another explanation was warranted. Did not catch the tone of Zach's post. Thought he was serious LOL
