Thanks, though I won't be keeping it.

Hard to make out with how dense the smear is, but if you look closely at the first window from center that has the triangular shaped lintel, just below and to the right of the lintel there is a clean transfer of the cording that holds the porch light. If I had mark-up tools on my mac (I may, but if so I don't know where to find them) I would have pointed that out.

Sorry but I don't understand what you are trying to say here. Do you think it was overinked and that is the cause of the smear? As I did, until this response. Do you think it was wet and next to another note and that the ink seeped into it? Because I admit, I do not see any clean transfers of any specific part of the design. If you don't want to give it any consideration, I'll give ya face for it! Plus shipping! :) PM me....

I'm thinking it got wet while in the pocket of a Levis, Wrangler, etc. Looks like a bluish color up top and lower right.

  9. No one would want a screwed up note like that in their collection.
Send it back to the Feds, they will give you a nice new one for it.

  11. Well maybe I am,
But if you were putting together a nice collection would you want one screwed up like that, if so I'll see what I can do for you, it's not that hard to do.

What's with the confederate flag on your avatar?

  16. Well,
I'm an old Southeren boy and did collect CSA currency at one time, so the South is part of my heritage why do you ask.

I take it you've never been to the South. The Confederacy and in turn the Confederate flag, is part of the South's heritage. The Mississippi state flag is comprised of the Confederate flag which can be prominently seen on state capitol buildings in Jackson.

Go to downtown New Orleans, Louisiana and you will see a huge statue of Robert E. Lee in an area called "Lee's Circle". Go to downtown Birmingham, Alabama and you will see a memorial erected in 1905 commemorating Confederate Civil War veterans.

As I am not a collector, and since I don't know the first thing about fakes, I did some research. I came across this ebay guide and it passes all of those tests. No chemical smell, same color, noticeble extra thickness, and bleed through to the front.

Did anyone here stop to think that maybe, just maybe, this $20 bill was in a bag with dye packs that a bank robber stole, and opened up, and the ink exploded on the bill(s)?

  21. That's a newer note, I don't think the use dye packs any longer.
