I know the object on the pin can be a touchy subject but mind you this is rare and is very historic. I have seen one like this before and it was once a pin and you could clearly see were it was put on. But on this one found today in a collection does not see to have ever been a pin. No contact marks or broken metal. Now what i´m thinking is could this fall into a token catagory ? Or would you like to see a reverse on it ? I have never tought about this before and there is no way to go back into the books to find out. The club was small and very closed. There are maby 4 samples known of this object. And yes Iceland had a party devoted to the german third reich but it was very misinformed and bought into the propaganda. It died out as as it was banned if I remember correctly. Siggi
I just got some photos from the one I had seen and it seems that the pins could have been added later as it´s very grude.
I'd say it's a pin also Siggi, but I've seen some strange things that are collected and cataloged as tokens. These include several types of galvanic batteries, a quack medical device worn around the neck on a chain. I think these date back to the 1870's and 1880's if I remember correctly. There are also some handsaw medallions that are considered tokens although they're just manufacturer's brass discs set into the wood handle of the saw. Many of the well known Philadelphia sawmaker Henry Disston's tags are collected as tokens. I suppose either catagory would fit your token / pin. Bruce
Thanks Bruce, I have been thinking about this all day i´m leaning against it being a pin that was never pinned. Even if they gave them out as advertisement I would never be able to authenticate it or find it in any documents as there are none. Actually while typing this I have an idea. I´ll come back to you with it. The translation would be Icelandic Nationalist Party
Well, the depicted pieces look a little ... crude? Guess there weren't too many "devout" nazis in Iceland to justify any mass production. And thank you for the translation! Christian
Your welcome, They ran for goverment and got about 2% following. But from what i´m gathering they self destruct and the party was closed after the german defeat in 1944
