The reverse just sparkles. I just wish I could have captured all the colors at one time. Even Phil didn't have much luck. Here is the TrueView
what is the best lighting to use taking pictures of toned coins all mine come out the same color like yellow when the coin is a light green color or a goldish color
Boy, oh boy was this a tough coin to photograph! I'm not completely content with how the images below came out, but I doubt I'll ever be able to perfect 'em, so they'll have to do for now. Anyways, this is a neat O.101 R3 - overdate 1817/3, and probably the most dramatic overdate in the series. It's housed in an OGH and displays some very colorful album toning! I've never been a fan of toning on circulated coins, let alone Bust halves - I like them as brown as they come - but when I saw this one, I figured it'd be a fun way to spice up my Registry... Plus, the price was right. Sorry... lots of pics. -Brian
SO MANY PRETTY COINS!! hahaha Personally I really love a silver coin with nice golden-reddish toning around the peripherals! but most toning is pretty attractive. Toning makes a coin sexy hahaha
