Lexington Concord half dollar in original case!

    These coins are not all that uncommon but I have seen only a handful of original cases for these coins.

    To me, (and I usually hate mint packaging), that packaging makes that coin way cooler than normal.

    The cases were not made by the mint, but for the organisation that was commemorating the event. That might explain why they are better than mint made cases.

    Agreed and IMO that alone would make the coin worth owning.


    Same difference, but I do not think this takes away from the overall package in any way. Actually, it only adds to the coolness factor IMO.

    Shame mint products dont come in stuff like that. Very cool.

    They are worth more with those aftermarket holders than without. Not a whole lot of people saved the wood holder, just the coin.

    Reason being that the wood imparted some ugly toning on some of them is what I have heard. Wood that is not sealed in many cases is acidity.

    May well be, but the OP's coin looks a lot better than the ones that were taken out and put in really harmful containers.
