Hi guys and gals! I was wondering just how much of a premium solid # bills bring? The specific bill I'm wondering about would be a 2006 JG? solid-8 $20 bill in UNC63? I don't have it, but I'm wondering what it would bring in the case that I got it. I've noticed several twenties that are within a couple hundred of it, so I'm setting my sights on it and going to search every $20 I can find!!!
I work in a bank. One of our customers has been bringing them in (a business). I aim to find the source
Good luck! The chances that it's still in the pile is pretty slim. I've talked to tellers and bankers who watch for new stacks that would contain #1's and solids and would pull them and replace them. Collectors have been collecting these since paper money was first made, so it isn't a new concept to be looking for them. I'll bet it was pulled long ago.
It will be worth a lot of money. Add the significance of the number 8 in Chinese culture, that's a prime solid serial. You will never find it. This page has a few for sale, but not 8's. eBay probably has an extensive list of completed auctions as well http://www.tickleyourfancycurrency.com/solidsFORSALE.htm
Yes......they are. Eventually you will become insane and look at every banknote that you can get your hands on.
