Hello again everyone! I have what I think may be a double die on reverse of a 1979P SBA.... Can anyone either confirm this or sink my hopes...lol If it happens to be real? is it rare? or even valuable? Thanks again for all your help! even if its to explain why its not what i think... learning one way or the other It seams more noticable on the "LAR"
No and no, unfortunately. Check out doubleddie.com and look for the page where the different types of doubling are explained. You may find it interesting.
strike doubling or machine doubling does not add any extra value at all to a coin unless it is a extreme example where the letters and numbers are almost totally seperated and looking like two sets of letters. I keep a few of these just to show folks as a learning tool.
