Is this proof or mint state?

I bought this as a mint state coin - graded MS by NGC. Everything I see on the coin says it is a proof from the shine, strike and rims except there is a very minor orange peel (that I could not capture) effect on the coin. Does anyone have any tells for 1955 proofs? I realize pictures are difficult to tell proof/mint but any comments appreciated.

good heavens.. I've never seen any MS cent with mirrors like that. If it's MS, then it is has the most PL fields I've ever seen on a cent. Either one heck of a polished and doc'ed MS coin... or PF. My guess is that it's PF.

I can see the reflection of the edge of a business card at 1 foot - easily

I'd def. say proof. I'm no expert so this is a total gut, first thing that comes to mind guess.

Proof. I really have no doubt about it but admit I've been wrong ;)

    I don't think there's any doubt it's a proof. I'd suspect a clerical error.

It's a proof coin. This is known as a mechanical error when the wrong grade, date, series or attribution is placed on the label.

I know almost nothing about copper coinage, but that one seems obviously proof with those incredibly reflective fields.

That is pretty much what I had assumed except for the orange peel affect. I just wanted to make sure before I raised a ruckus.

If that ain't a proof, I'll invent a new grade for it : VERY proof-like:D
