I plan on bidding on the two patterns and the toned half dime. I'm not worried about it, that is what Paypal is for. I'll post pics of my winnings on this thread for you all to enjoy.
Well, I guess that's possible. Maybe I'm too trusting of people, but I kinda believe the OP of the CC thread.
I don't know if you are, or ever were, a member at that forum, but trust me when I tell ya, you're better off not being there. If something like this gets the regulars' noses out of joint over there, I can only imagine what they're like when someone actually does something dishonest. I checked that forum out, read a few threads, and found my way here to CT. Much nicer, friendlier people, by far.
I am not saying that is what happened nor even do I believe that is what happened, but from the information presented, we have absolutely nothing to prove that it is not what is actually going on - nor that it is not going on.
Does it matter? How does anyone at CCF know that guy didn't do some reading of threads over there and saw how arrogant those members can be, especially with new members joining and obtain information about a particular coin? As I said, it sounds more like Drsand and the other regulars over there have their noses out of joint because a new member got information from them about a particular coin, which is a regular occurance on any numismatic forum BTW; and how often does that occur right here at CT?; and then listed the coin for sale, and is denying he did because he doesn't wish to have the regulars come down on him. Do you report to all of us every coin you list for sale on any of the online sales venues? Are you required to? Do we(CT members) require you to?
I think they're more ticked because most of them suggested submitting it to PCGS and he listed it for sale, raw, instead.
Sure it matters. The guy says he owns the coins and did not list them and has reported it to Ebay. Sure puts a cloud over the auction. At this point and with what you say, I don't trust any of the players in this crazy deal.
i dont know whats going on with the cent piece, who is lying, or what. but i will say that the fact that they got all ****y about him posting it for sale BEFORE any suspicions of wrong doing were raised is enraging. had i been treated like that when i came to this site asking for help to sell a collection, i would not have started collecting myself. what exactly is wrong with selling something you find? i just found a ddo, asked for help with attribution here, and placed it for sale. does that make me a bad guy? personally, i think the series its on is ugly, and have no interest in keeping it. i can buy something i like to look at instead. and again, i have no idea who is lying on that thread, i am just commenting on the way he was treated when they thought he was selling the pattern cent.
The plot thickens. Go to the link of the CC thread the OP posted and read page three. The ebay seller has posted.:smile
I've been trying to follow this thread. A guy asks for info about his coin then posts it for sale on Ebay. How does someone add two and two and get stolen for an answer?
"Facts" are becoming so confused in that sad story that for sure we need to call back Sherlock Holmes to solve it quickly...otherwise it's becoming a headache Just my 0.02 ( not pattern )
I'm more interested in the Hollister hoodies than in the coins. That's a LOT of high quality, expensive clothing I could save some money on for my 13 year old daughter.....if only I can find a way to convince her they arent' used......
Beware when you wash the hoodies first time, maybe you could find some pattern coins or other gems
A)The guy who asked for the information has stated that it is not him selling the coin and has stated that he contacted ebay to report that the person is using stolen pictures to sell an item he doesn't have. B)The guy who asked for information lives in another state than the ebay ID used selling the coin. That help clear things up for you?
