Well yesterday at work I had a gentleman come in and turn in 50$ in pennies and without saying anything he walked out and I got busy well later that day I started to look at the rolls and that's when I realized all 50$ worth were wheat pennies so obviously I bought them to take home and search through the right way. Well about 45 min after that an older lady came in and said she had coin that she wanted to turn in And that they were her late husband so I took them mostly pennies and she left well I looked through them with the same results as before 31$ in wheat pennies and a full roll of Roosevelt silver dimes!!!!! Wow so I bought those too and will post my findings the beginning of the week. Wish me luck
Yes I work at a credit union here in Virginia so I have access to a lot of coins and paper currency. We find some pretty interesting stuff
Yes I do love it I get to look through coins and currency and get paid for and I buy the coins at face value I am taking my labor day and trying to look through some of the wheats after one roll I'm excited I found 3 steel 43's and 1910-1916 in not too bad of shape so I hope this keeps up
Zander i hope this is a part time job while youre in school learning about how to write sentances that require punctuation because it seems as if your posts so far have been run on sentances which really are a headache to read but i am just busting your chops it must be fun being a teller i couldnt imagine all the neat things that you can find the teller at my local bank told me up in west virginia she came across a lot of awesome finds some $500 bills and a lot of good old bills
Or maybe some people just need the money to pay a bill, buy food, etc rather than being 'not smart'. They may not have the luxury of saving the coins or going through the process of selling them little by little.
one of my old managers told me his wife was a night manager at What a burger and a kid stoled his grandpa gold coins and bought food with them. she payed face value of the coins and put them in a safty deposite box
Well Koin, I tend to get excited and run on and on with word vomit. LOL but I am in school full time while working full time and working at a local resturaunt on weekends part time. So Blissskr I do know what it is like to have to pay bills and scavange for money for food, for I have lived on my own since my dad passed when I was 17 and I took care of my little brother. My point was that these two people that brought them in did have plenty of money and lived comfortably. It was that their lack of knowledge or care even after I told both of them that if they took a little time they could sell them for more. I always as a teller give the person a chance to not trade them in for face value but go make some money off them. Most of the people still say no so that was my point. I guess i should have said some people can be lazy.
