Yes, luster grazes are pain. I see you solved that problem by having a circulated coin graded.

They gave it to my son in Standford. Don't insult my son, or his coin.

Not insulting your son, but not insulting that coin is going to be almost impossible.

Wow, someone has his panties in a bunch! It's a common coin, I've pulled better from pocket change. At least Lehigh's is nice.

What is a "Sample Bison," is it some sort of promotion PCGS does?

Yes - it is a promotion of some sort. I do know that sample slabs are collected also.

I should hope Paul's (lehigh) is nice. It's a Satin Finish example from a mint set. I've actually almost never seen a Satin Finish coin graded that low at a mere MS67.

I would love to have a Canadian coin in a PCGS sample slab, but the only ones I have ever seen, the seller (eBay) would not ship to Canada...

Ummm i'm no pro here, but if it was a satin finish it would have graded like an SP67, not an MS67, or it would be listed as a satin finish coin. IMHO it clearly looks like a high grade circulation strike and going by my gut and having seen many of Lehigh's postings/pictures before i'm sure it is one of the best out there, scar or not...

I went ahead and looked up an MS67 2005 D on the PCGS pop report and actually there are 256 MS66's out there but "ZERO" MS67's... Not exactly pocket change...

To the OP: Cool sample slab, i'm sure your son will enjoy it :)

    dsmith23 Gotta get 'em all

What does the SMS stand for then in the grade? Its a mint set from 2005 the first year they released the satin finished coins in mint sets.
