    K2Coins GO GATORS

I took a trip to Dorney Park with my friend yesterday and received this in change...
    1909 VBD OBV.jpg 1909 VDB REV.jpg
I was wondering what it might grade (I'm not that familiar with pennies) and what it might be worth. This is my very first VDB that I have found in circulation so i was pretty excited, especially since it is over 100 years old!!!
    Thanks

It looks like VF to me, but you are going to have to get larger and clearer pictures to know for sure.

It's probably safe to assume it will be your last too, at least from circulation.

That's a great find, I've been looking through my change for over thirty years and have never found a VDB. Looks VF-20 to me.

I could go 25 or 30 unless that blue is really on the coin. Then it would get a details grade.

The blue stuff is on the holder, i think that it is lint or something :p

At a VF-30 what would the value of this coin be?

Why not just look it up? This is not a date where the value changes much from one circ grade to the next, so doing so should give a decent estimate. Also, check completed ebay listings since this date often sells under most guides.

    PCGS--- F-12= $16 EF-40= $19

so... would it be around $18?

I wouldn't say that much look at the completed auctions I linked up above.

Greysheet = $10 - $12. If it were certified by PCGS then their pricing would be semi-meaningful.

So this 1909 cent isn't that high in value. BUT if it were a 1909-S vbd at say F12 you have a nice $900 chunk of cash. Keep looking and
    having fun.

    Nice find!

It's about VF25, a couple spots of verdigris hurts it. $10 or so.
