In the present condition i would pass on grading these as they are not in good enough condition to command a premium, IMHO.
When I have a coin I consider having graded, I look at the price guides. If my coin might grade to a high price, I'll send it in.
Is it worth the collector's time? Sure... if you enjoy such coins it's fine practice to hone your grading skills with. However, if you're asking if they are worth submitting, then the answer will almost always be no unless it's something truly special. I really have a hard time with understanding why many new collectors are so drawn to slabs. It's long been my opinion that submissions should not even be considered until - or unless with experienced on-hand help - a collector truly knows what they are doing. If one wants slabs, there are plenty available, and buying such coins can be excellent learning tools while not throwing money down the drain. Just something for your consideration.
Let them tone in a Wayte-Raymond holder and the way things are going with grade inflation, in twenty years or so they should grade MS69! That's why I am a Unitarian when it comes to coins.
