1963A or is it a $1?? No such thing as '63B $5. '63B is $1's only. You most likely meant $1 because J-C is a common Barr note block...
Radar and star finds I took these two out of some fresh new straps from the bank. The star note was the last note from a strap of 2009 KD Block. I guess I always assumes if they replaced a note from a KD block they would replace it with a K star. But not in this case. They used a B star. Its not from a rare run Its from the 1st run with 1,2800,00 printed but UNC. Although I don't like the ink smudge on the back. The radar a found in one of the other straps. This one IMO is UNC Gem. A well centered note. Derek
Wow, my memory ain't what it used to be It IS a $5 FRN, 1963 "A", not B, serial H53689712A. Sorry for the confusion. Scan to come if I figure out this darn contraption...
Got a couple notes that some how managed to find their way into my hands the last 2-3 weeks...this 1st one is rather enjoyable for the minneapolis trinady repeater collectors. It amazes me how sometimes these kind of notes get as much circulation as this one has until a collector pulls it out.
Also from minneapolis and same series from the next block run from the repeater is this radar.Pretty crazy odds of finding these two within a two week period from each other.Just goes to show you never know what you may come across at any given time.
Did two straps of circulated $1 and about $250 in mixed $2 today. Nothing exciting in the ones: No stars, no fancy numbers, nothing older than 1999. I did find my lowest serial yet, though, series 2009 D 00067781 A. Nothing too much more exciting in the twos, but I did find a few notes from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Tenas:
Hello guys I don't know much about notes and found this star with low serial number how rare is it I know condition is not the best what do you guys think
Because it's a 4 digit star I would keep it. For some reason, those don't come up very often in circulation. I read somewhere that huge money transferring companies have their employees pull out any 4 or less digit stars to sell to private collectors.
I have one in better condition, worth like two bucks at the most, a dealer would just give you face value
I just found my first ever 1969B note! I bought 300 singles from a bank and there it was inside of a strap. This is an exceptionally rare note to find in circulation. This year I've found my first 1963 and 1969 singles so now I just need to find a 1969C to have found every $1 series from 1963-present from circulation.
