Thanks! And for clarifying "transit" vs. "bus" - I appreciate it.

We would use acetone and a medical sterile cotton swab, FWIW. its a delicate process and needs a large magnifying glass, a light stand and patience. It takes about 2 hours to do it without leaving any marks or scars.

You want to try removing the print without upsetting the surface. That is an art, not a science.

the complete State Quarter program from P and D mint. as well some three diffrent PF 69 graded coins i bought on ebay for 30 dollars and got a great deal. 1 worth $18.50 the other is worth $20.00. I just dont know how much the 2012 Kennedy Half proof 69 is worth yet

I was going to assume it was a silver struck Ike due to the strike and luster but did not want to jump to conclusions. As for the grade on your Ike, im gonna go with MS67 because it has just a few light marks on the reverse but i could be wrong its all going to depend on how negatively the TPG looks upon those marks. Anyhow i like the coin and consider it a good coin for any Ike set as it looks to be well struck with very few if any contact marks in the devices or fields.:thumb:

That looks like a shadow Ike to me, which I learned about from a member on here, I forget who though.
    Anyways, nice pick up!!

You could be right it does look to have the characteristics of a shadow Ike but better pics would be needed.

i just made a trip out to the lcs. have had a pretty good day so far :)
it all started with me going to the bank to cash in some change i reached in the drop slot and found a 1943 steelie
then i went to the lcs and bought a roll of buffalo nickels for 12.00, 3 rolls of low grade v nivkels for 7.00 per roll and i also bought a 1893 barber quarter for 4.00( he has a few coins with price tags still on them that are hidden under his newer inventory)

these are the highlights of the rolls and the quarter. i know they are low grade and corroded but they make good filler coins for .17 a piece

I will have to look in my book once it arrives in hand and see if it has those features for a shadow Ike. I was thinking MS-66/67 as well, the reverse marks might keep it at 66.
